Firefighters responded to the corner of 5th and Spruce early Monday morning in Ark City for a report of a house fire.
According to Ark City Fire Capt. Chet Ranzau, crews were called at 7:14 a.m. and arrived at 328 N. 5th to find the home engulfed in flames, with fire coming through the roof and out the windows.
The house was unoccupied.
Ark City Fire was assisted by the Winfield Fire Department at the scene.
Ranzau said it took crews a couple of hours to get the blaze under control and that the cause is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
The home is considered a total loss and is valued at $26,000, according to the county.
