IMA Select has announced its acquisition of longtime Winfield business Buterbaugh & Handlin Insurance.
IMA Select is an insurance advisor for businesses, individuals and families. Buterbaugh & Handlin Insurance has been locally owned for many years.
IMA Select is a subsidiary of IMA Financial Group, the sixth largest independent, employee-owned insurance broker in the United States. The acquisition is part of IMA’s long-term strategy to grow through acquisition in and around its core markets, the company said in a written statement.
“Our two companies were both born in south central Kansas and share a strong local reputation and an unwavering commitment to superior service and product knowledge,” said IMA Select President Brian Sandy. “Together we can expand our offerings to businesses and individuals in the Wichita, Wellington and Winfield communities.”
IMA will retain B&H’s current Winfield office. Its team members will join IMA Select as associates and B&H President Monica Hidde was named Team Leader of the IMA Select Winfield office.

Buterbaugh & Handlin Real Estate is not part of the acquisition and will continue to serve homebuyers and sellers in its Winfield office.
