Winfield Police Investigate Armed Robbery Monday at Check Into Cash

Police in Winfield are continuing to investigate an armed robbery that occurred Monday afternoon at Check Into Cash. A male suspect fled with cash and has not been located.

Just before 5 p.m., police were dispatched to the business, located in the 100 block of west 13th Ave. Officers responded and information was developed that a male had entered the store, displayed a weapon, demanded money from the employees and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Upon initial investigation officers were told by witnesses in the area that the male subject had got into a silver in color SUV and the vehicle was last seen northbound on Manning Street.

During the investigation officers located clothing alongside Country Club Road in Winfield that is believed to have been worn by the suspect during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately six feet tall, wearing a blue in color University of Kansas Sweatshirt, black in color sweatpants. The suspect was wearing a hat, glasses, and a surgical type mask.
