William Newton Hospital Welcomes First Baby Of 2021

The first baby born in 2021 at the William Newton Family Birthing Center was delivered at 1:33 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, according to a press release from the hospital Monday.

Mason Cooper Tatum, son of Matthew and Sheila Tatum of Burden, weighed seven pounds nine ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

Baby Mason joins a brother and sister, and was delivered by Tarena Sisk, MSN, APRN, CNM-I.

The William Newton Family Birthing Center is equipped with seven private rooms and two birthing suites. In 2020, William Newton Hospital welcomed 290 newborns to its nursery.
