Man Arrested Following Short Chase West Of Ark City

A man was arrested following a short chase after a traffic stop Friday evening, according to the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office activity report Monday morning.

At 7:04 p.m. Friday, a Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic infraction in the 12000 block of 21st Road west of Ark City.

The vehicle failed to stop.

After a nearly four mile chase, the vehicle became disabled and the driver fled.

Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti told KSOK-NewsCow the vehicle was possible disabled by a low water bridge.

James Lamont Jackson, who was a passenger, was arrested on a Arkansas City Municipal Warrant.

The driver fled on foot, but is known to law enforcement and that a warrant is expected to be issued.
