Udall Man Tapped To Chair Democratic Committee For Kansas’ 4th Congressional District

A Cowley County man has been tapped to chair Kansas’ Fourth Congressional District Democratic Central Committee, according to a news release.

The Fourth Congressional District Democratic Central Committee held their reorganization meeting Jan. 30 and elected Mike Morton of Cowley
County as Chair and Rhonda Cox of Sedgwick County Vice Chair.

Kristi Kirk from Sedgwick County will be the Secretary and Jeff Hemingway of Kingman County Treasurer.

Kansas’ 4th Congressional District includes Cowley, Sedgewick, Butler and Sumner Counties, and also includes the Medicine Lodge and Pratt regions. The district is currently represented by Republican Ron Estes of Wichita.

Before Rep. Estes, the district was represented in Congress by fellow Republican Mike Pompeo, who was the former U.S. Secretary of State during the Trump Administration.

“The Democratic Party believes that real solutions are found through inclusive leadership,” Morton stated. “We will always strive to include and listen to the ‘unusual’ voices in our
society. I believe this is the only way we can truly meet the challenges of the average Kansan.

“We believe anyone can lead anytime and anywhere when given the proper tools and support. That is my mission as Chair of the 4th District: To identify leaders at
every level and provide them the support they need to succeed.”
