Ark City Man Stopped By Road Spikes After Chase Early Sunday

An Ark City man was arrested following a chase in northern Cowley County early Sunday morning, according to Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti Monday.

Zackary A. Nichols, 22, was arrested after attempting to flee and elude law enforcement officers.

Falletti said Nichols ran from officers with the Udall Police Department, but was later located in the 8000 block of 82nd Road. Nichols again attempted to flee from Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies.

Spikes were deployed in the area of 22nd and 11th Road north of Udall.

The vehicle went into a ditch in the 3000 block of 11th Road and the driver was taken into custody.

Nichols was transported to the Cowley County Jail on charges of felony flee and elude, reckless driving, possession of stolen property, criminal damage to property, driving with a suspended or cancelled license, no proof of insurance and an expired tag

As of Monday afternoon, Nichols remains confined inside the Cowley County Jail on a bond of $11,600.
