Search Warrant Leads To 7 Winfield Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

Seven Winfield residents were arrested on drug charges, according to a news release from the Winfield Police Department Friday.

Thursday, members from the WPD, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, and members of the Cowley County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of East 6th Avenue in Winfield.

During the execution of the search warrant items believed to be methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia were located.

The below mentioned individuals have been arrested and charged as a result of this investigation:

  • Dakota Huff, 22 of Winfield, charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Arkansas City Municipal Court and the Cowley County District Court.
  • Julia Phillips, 27 of Winfield, charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Alyna Alvarado, 31 of Winfield, charged with possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Kelly Wedd, 46 of Winfield, charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
  • Jason Volk, 36 of Winfield, charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • William Engleking III, 52 of Winfield, charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug sale paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana.
  • Dennis Smith, 71 of Winfield, charged with possession of marijuana.

All of the above individuals were booked into the Cowley County Jail.
