A Derby man was hospitalized on Sunday following a collision just west of Winfield involving a motorcycle and pick up truck.
Around 3:15 p.m., the County Sheriff’s Dept., Winfield Police, and Winfield Fire-EMS were sent to the 19000 block of 71st Rd., also known locally as Country Club Rd., for the report of an injury accident.
The sheriff’s dept. reports that 27-year-old Gage McBee, of Oxford, was south on 71st in a blue Ford F-150 when he missed a turn. McBee pulled off into a driveway to make a u-turn.
24-year-old Ryan Olson, Derby, was southbound on 71st riding a green 1998 Kawasaki motorcycle and attempted to stop prior to colliding with McBee’s truck, but was unsuccessful.
Olson was transported to William Newton by EMS and later to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita for treatment of injuries.
