WPD: Four Winfield Residents Jailed On Drug Charges

Four Winfield residents were arrested Friday on drug charges, according to a news release from the Winfield Police Department Monday.

Officers with the WPD, along with assistance from the Cowley County Drug Task Force and Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant Friday at a residence in the 500 block of east 4th Avenue in Winfield.

During the course of the search, items believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine, prescription narcotics, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and drug sale paraphernalia were found in the residence.

As a result of the investigation the following people were arrested:

  • Kenneth Scott Smith, 54, of Winfield, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug sale paraphernalia, unlawful distribution of depressant w/in 1000 ft. of a school, unlawful distribution of stimulant w/in 1000 ft. of a school, conspiracy, and no drug tax stamp.
  • Rebekah Suzanne Murphree, 41, of Winfield, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug sale paraphernalia, unlawful distribution of depressant w/in 1000 ft. of a school, unlawful distribution of stimulant w/in 1000 ft. of a school, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful distribution of controlled substance w/in 1000 ft. of a school, and no drug tax stamp.
  • Michelle Ann Thomas, 38, of Winfield, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Michael Douglas Love, 25, of Winfield, was charged with possession of marijuana.

All suspects were booked into the Cowley County Jail.
