ACPD: Two Arrested For Disorderly Conduct; One Charged With Cocaine, Meth Possession

The Arkansas City Police Department arrested two Ark City residents Saturday night after they were involved in a verbal altercation in a roadway, according to a news release from the ACPD Monday.

Cassandra Dawn Shaw, 43, was arrested on suspicion of one misdemeanor count each of disorderly conduct-domestic violence and driving with a suspended driver’s license (first offense).

Shaw was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield in lieu of $700 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City. She since has posted bond and been released.

Ansuan Shamarr Hollingsworth, 32, was arrested on suspicion of one felony count each of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He also was arrested on one misdemeanor count each of criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct-domestic violence, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Hollingsworth was transported to and booked into the county jail in lieu of $23,500 bond through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City. He remained in custody at the time of this release.

Officers were dispatched at 7:18 p.m. Saturday to the intersection of Eighth Street and Forrest Glenn Drive for a report of a possible motor vehicle accident at that location.

They learned the incident was actually a verbal disturbance, not a traffic accident. Police made contact with the driver, later identified as Shaw, and her passenger, later identified as Hollingsworth.

Neither individual was able to produce keys to the vehicle, which was creating a traffic hazard.

During an inventory of the vehicle, numerous items of drugs and paraphernalia were located inside.
