More information has been released about an injury accident Friday morning in downtown Ark City involving a pick-up that had rammed into the side of a building, according to a news release from the Ark City Police Department Tuesday.

Ark City Fire-EMS and the ACPD first responded about 10:09 a.m. Friday to a reported injury accident at the intersection of Adams Avenue and South Summit Street.

They found that a red Ford F-150 pickup truck had struck a building in the 100 block of West Adams Avenue. Both of the truck’s occupants were injured.

The driver, Martell Brown, 23, of Ark City, had injuries to his lower legs and was transported by the ArkCity Fire-EMS Department to SCK Medical Center for treatment. He later was transported by air ambulance to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita and now is in stable condition.

Brown’s passenger, Adriana Morrow, 19, also of Ark City, also sustained injuries to her legs.

She also was transported by the Ark City Fire-EMS Department to SCK Medical Center for further treatment of her injuries.

The exact cause of the accident is unknown and remains under investigation. No citations have been issued at this time.

Tuesday’s news release also included information about another injury accident that happened Friday.

Ark City Fire-EMS and police responded about 4:30 p.m. Friday to a reported minor-injury accident at the intersection of Birch Avenue and North Summit Street.

They found two vehicles blocking the southbound lanes of Summit Street, a green 2006 Toyota Camry and a white 2016 Nissan Altima.

The juvenile driver of the green Camry, a 16-year-old Arkansas City female, complained of neck pain and a juvenile passenger in her vehicle reported pain in her right arm.

The driver of the white Altima, a 32-year-old Wichita man, did not report any injuries, but his female passenger sustained a cut on her right arm. All of the injured individuals involved were treated at the scene and declined medical transport.

Further investigation determined that the juvenile driver had failed to stop at the stop sign on Birch Avenue and was struck by the Altima.

She was cited in connection for disobeying a traffic control device and no driver’s license.
