A batch of scattered storms dumped substantial amounts of rain in Cowley County Thursday afternoon.
The Madison Street underpass in Ark City flooded for a short time and the Ark City Police Department reported flooding near the Agri-Business Building area.
Police scanner traffic also indicated reports of drivers in need of assistance because of inoperable cars that may have been driven in high-water areas or streets.
The National Weather Service issued a Flood Warning for Cowley County until 11:30 a.m. Friday.
