Ark City Man Arrested After Stabbing Incident

The Arkansas City Police Department arrested an Ark City man early Tuesday following a physical disturbance when he allegedly stabbed his roommate.

According to a news release from the ACPD later in the afternoon, Felipe Augustine, 29, was arrested on suspicion of one felony count each of aggravated battery, criminal threat and identity theft.

He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail in Winfield on a bond of $17,000 through Cowley County District Court in Ark City.

Augustine remained in custody at the time of this release.

Officers were dispatched early Tuesday morning to 221 W. Adams Ave. for a report of a physical disturbance in which the victim had been stabbed.

When they arrived on scene, they found a 20-year-old Ark City man with a severe laceration to his hand. He was evaluated and treated at the scene by the Ark City Fire-EMS Department, which then transported him to SCK Medical Center for further treatment of his injury.

Police learned the suspect in this incident, later identified as Augustine, was in the restroom of the residence, but he refused to leave. After some time, he exited the room, still in possession of the knife.

Augustine, who was determined to be the victim’s roommate, was taken into custody without incident.
