Two Winfield residents were transported to Wichita hospitals for treatment following a rollover accident near the Kansas Veterans Home Sunday morning, according to a news release from the Winfield Police Department Wednesday.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. Sunday, officers located the accident scene in the 2200 block of H.N. Banner Road.
The vehicle involved, a 2011 Toyota Camry, had rolled multiple times and was severely damaged.
Contact was made with an 18-year-old driver, identified as Jaykson Jessy of Winfield, and a juvenile passenger, also of Winfield. The juvenile passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle by Winfield Fire/EMS.
Both subjects were transported to Wichita hospitals for treatment of serious injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident.
The Winfield Police Department was assisted by Winfield Fire/EMS, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kansas Highway Patrol during the investigation.
