Police in Ark City are asking local business owners, managers and cashiers to be looking out for bogus bills that are being passed locally.
“Please do your due diligence when taking cash during transactions,” the Arkansas City Police Dept. said on its Facebook page this week.
Counterfeit $50 and $100 bills have been passed at local businesses recently. One distinguishing characteristic of the bills is that they are smaller than genuine bills. Cashiers are asked to thoroughly examine and mark any bills that come into businesses.
Contact police if a bogus bill is discovered.
