Woman Arrested Early Saturday When Deputy Stops Vehicle Reported Stolen

A 38-year-old Winfield woman was arrested over the weekend after a Cowley County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle near Winfield that had been reported stolen.

Just before 4 a.m. Saturday, the vehicle was observed in the 300 block of the K-360 bypass. It had been reported stolen earlier that same night.

A traffic stop with the vehicle happened in the 3000 block of 9th Ave. in Winfield. April I. Adams was then arrested and booked on charges of possession of meth and pot, drug paraphernalia, criminal use of a weapon, criminal deprivation of property and expired drivers license.

Adams has since posted bond and been released from the county jail.
