“Queen of Bluegrass” Rhonda Vincent To Play Winfield Festival In September

Rhonda Vincent – a grammy award winner and member of the Grand Ole Opry – will play Winfield’s Walnut Valley Festival for the first time ever this year as the festival celebrates its 50th year.

“She’s wanted to be here for a long time,” festival spokesperson Rex Flottman said. “Problem was her family did a festival over in the Ozarks. Their festival was about the same time as ours.”

Vincent has been dubbed the “Queen of Bluegrass,” and will be joined by her band, The Rage. Her website indicates she will be in Winfield for performances on Sept 15 and 16.

The festival runs Sept. 14-18 at the Winfield Fairgrounds.

Offers have been made to numerous other entertainers for what is expected to be a big year for the festival. Like all other events, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected the festival.

“We’ve still got several offers out we’re waiting on,” Flottman said in an email to NewsCow. “Hopefully, we’ll have some answers soon.”
