Winfield’s Main St. Games To Acquire McDonald’s Computer Service In AC

Ark City’s “PC Doctor” Ralph McDonald is ready to hand the stethoscope to Jacob McGuire, owner of Main St. Games in Winfield.

McDonald will close up his storefront on Summit after nearly two decades as owner proprietor of McDonald’s Computer Service. He’s selling the business to McGuire who plans to operate out of his company’s current location at 705 Main in Winfield.

The switch over should begin by the end of March.

William Speer, who has been with McDonald as a technician for years, will transfer to the new company.

“We are excited for the opportunity to continue serving McDonalds Computer Service customers with the same great service with key technicians and experience,” McGuire said.

McDonald said McGuire is well suited for operating the business.

“It’s time for a younger man with vision to take the reins,” he said. “I’ll be working as a consultant with Jacob during the next year as we transition to the next generation. His current location in Winfield gives him a strong place to provide great coverage for all of Cowley County.”

Rhonda Jordan is planning to acquire McDonald’s building at 111 S. Summit in Ark City and operate a boutique out of it.

McDonald plans to stay busy, even in retirement.

“I’ll never sit still, supporting Jacob in getting Main Street Games and Computers staying strong and working in the community will keep me out of my recliner,” he said.

McDonald’s Computer Service began its run in Ark City in April 2003.
