Weekend Activity Reported By Area Law Enforcement Agencies April 22 to April 24

The following is a list of activity reported by area law enforcement agencies from over the weekend:

At 5:50 p.m. Friday, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 6000 blk U.S. 77 Hwy for a suspicious vehicle. Deputies made contact with driver Cameron Johnson who was arrested for driving on a suspended license.

9:44 pm 04/22/2022 Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy stopped a vehicle in the 10000 blk of 21st Rd and driver, Edwanna Barnes, 56, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. She was booked into the county jail and has since been released on bond.

The Winfield Police Dept. reports that Daniel Huff of Wichita was involved in an injury motor vehicle accident Friday in the 400 block of Main Street.

A woman was the victim of battery in the 300 block of North Viking Boulevard. Sasha Thompson, 44, of Winfield was arrested in connection with the investigation late Friday by Winfield Police. She was later released on her own recognizance.

Mileena Amezcua, 26, of Winfield was arrested Saturday for a warrant in the 200 block of West 10th Avenue. She has since been released on bond.

Steven Huff, 22, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma, was arrested Saturday by Winfield Police for theft in the 400 block of Stevens Street. He has posted bond and been released.

Nicholas Frink, 22, of Coweta, Oklahoma was arrested Saturday by WPD for theft and obstruction of legal process. He has been released on bond.

Russell Steffen, 34, of Winfield was arrested Saturday by WPD for a warrant in the 1300 block of Main Street. He was released on his own recognizance.

Christopher Martinez of Atlanta, Kansas, was cited and arrested Sunday by WPD for driving while suspended in the 500 block of East 4th Avenue.
