More Than 200 Students Take Part In Cowley Commencement On Saturday

A total of 216 students participated in Cowley College’s 99th Commencement exercises Saturday inside W.S. Scott Auditorium.

Along with the conferring of degrees, Glen and Lisa Virden, were named the recipients of Cowley’s Outstanding Tiger Alumni Award. Glen Virden is currently a special agent in charge with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

Two-time volleyball All-American Fernanda Domingos-Raney served as the featured speaker at Commencement.

Student Senate president Madilynn Sanderholm, and Student Senate vice president Tynil Retzer, also addressed the class.

The students included summer 2021 graduates through summer 2022 graduates. Students who graduated last summer and last December have received their diplomas. Saturday’s graduates will receive their diplomas in June. A total of 440 students were candidates for graduation.

A reception for graduates, family members and friends was held immediately following the ceremonies outside W.S. Scott Auditorium.
