An Arkansas City man was injured this morning when the motorcycle he was riding struck a deer in the roadway south of Winfield.
Around 5:50 a.m., Cowley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 19000 block of U.S. 77 for an injury accident. Richard Jones, 65, was eastbound on the highway when he struck the animal.
He was riding a 2003 Harley Davidson.
Jones was taken to William Newton Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. An update on his condition was not immediately available.
