Anonymous Gift Funds Paving Of South Gravel Parking Lot At Winfield Hospital

William Newton Hospital has begun a $375,000 project to pave its south gravel parking lot at the hospital in Winfield. The project should be complete by the end of summer, hospital officials said through a media statement Tuesday.

An anonymous gift will cover new lighting, signage and concrete surfacing.

“Our employees not-so-affectionately refer to that lot as ‘the pasture,’” said Annika Morris, Director of Foundation & Community Engagement, William Newton Healthcare Foundation. “Thanks to this anonymous gift, WNH will be receiving a much-needed improvement. As we move into the future of healthcare, philanthropy is playing a much greater part, not only in improving facilities, but enhancing the patient experience. These donors understand that our campus must have a safe, clean, and welcoming first impression.”

The south gravel parking lot is located between 5th and 6th avenue on Cherry Street.

Electrical work has already begun.

William Newton Hospital and William Newton Healthcare Foundation have been working with the City of Winfield, Conco Construction, and Agora Architecture to complete the project.
