Emma Mayfield helped collect over $300 plus in-kind donations for William Newton Hospital’s SANE program as part of her Stop Stalking pageant platform. An international Junior Miss Kansas Jr. Teen, the 15-year-old Mayfield visited the hospital in Winfield on Thursday, bringing outfits in various sizes, blankets, undergarments, toys, stuffed animals, and more.
The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner, or SANE, program is a community-based coordinated response to child and adult victims of sexual assault.
Mayfield’s Stop Stalking platform helps push Jodi’s Law through all remaining 48 states that have not done so. Kansas and New Mexico are the only states to add this protection for victims of stalking to date.
This donation was given in memory of her aunt Jodi Sanderholm, whose disappearance and murder occurred in 2007, just two days before Mayfield was born. William Newton Hospital would like to thank all of the individuals who contributed funds or items to Emma’s project, including Ash & Aura salon.
