A Winfield man died early this morning in a single-vehicle accident on U.S. 77 highway in south Ark City.
49-year-old Eric M. Andes was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. There were no passengers in the vehicle.
Andes was northbound in a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 33000 block of 77 highway. He left the roadway and the vehicle rolled several times before coming to a rest in the median, according to a report from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept.
Cowley County coroner Willie Posey has ordered an autopsy.
The accident occurred before 6 a.m.
