Classes, finals go on at WHS, WMS

Classes and final exams will go on as scheduled at the middle school and high school in Winfield, an official for USD 465 announced Monday.

There had been questions as to whether the school year would be completed following bomb threats made last week.Students are expected to complete all their obligations in order to earn credit for their classes, according to information provided by the district.

Other information provided Monday included:

  • Any parent who chooses to keep their child out of school for the remainder of the year must notify the high school office that students will not be returning to school.
  • Parents or students must contact each teacher to make arrangements to take finals and complete other necessary work.
  • Students who are taking their finals off-site will take the test at the district office, 1407 Wheat Road, at the same time their class is scheduled to take the test.
  • High school teachers will be at the district office to administer the finals from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
  • If a class has taken the final before arrangements are made to take the test, the teacher will provide an alternate final.
  • A student who does not complete finals or other work will receive a zero for those assignments, figured into their final grade.
