FEMA opens local Disaster Recovery Center

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has opened an office in Cowley County to assist victims of the flooding in late June.

The Disaster Recovery Center is located at the USD 465 office at 1407 Wheat Road in Winfield. It is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. No closing date has been set.

FEMA along with the Small Business Administration is on hand to assist victims of the flood. Anyone needing assistance is asked to stop by the recovery center for help. Those affected by the flooding are asked to first register with FEMA by calling 1-800-621-3362.
