Sisters hurt in crash leave Wichita hospitals

Two sisters injured in a traffic accident east of Winfield last Thursday have been released from Wichita hospitals.

Arin Richardson, 15, was flown to Via Christi Regional Medical Center after the accident. Ashton Richardson, 18, was flown to Wesley Medical Center.

Spokesmen for both medical facilities said Monday morning that the patients have been released.

They were injured when a large truck struck their small passenger car as they were on their way to Winfield High School where they are students. The truck driver, Michael Kennedy, 31, also of Winfield, was not injured, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
