Cowley County commissioners will elect a chairperson during the annual reorganization meeting at 7 p.m Tuesday on the second floor of the former State Bank building. Dick Bonfy is currently chairman.
Each of the three commissioners earn $17,388.80 annually, which includes a five percent raise they gave themselves this year. The chair earns an extra $100 a month. Commissioners usually meet once a week. A full-time manager runs the day-to-day operation.
County Engineer Dale Steward, Director of Emergency Management Brian Stone and County Coroner Bryan Dennett are also listed on the agenda for reappointments. Other agenda items include declaring the official county newspaper and official depositories for county funds.
Meetings are open to the public.
