Zimmermans arrested after disturbance Tue.

Dr. Edward Zimmerman and Arkansas City veterinarian Dr. Tamara Zimmerman are out on bail after being arrested early Tuesday. The couple were taken into custody following a domestic disturbance.

Officers with the Cowley County Sheriff’s Department went to a home at 2688 E. Linden in Parkerfield just after midnight. Edward Zimmerman placed the call to police and a dispatcher reported hearing yelling in the background, according to a sheriff’s report.

Officers made sure the couple was separated from one another and arrested each on a domestic battery count. They were released on $750 bail and ordered to appear in court Feb. 19.

The couple have been ordered not to have contact with one another.

Four children living at the home were turned over to the care of a family member at the request of Mr. Zimmerman.

Dr. Tamara Zimmerman’s TLC Veterinary Clinic was the subject of a prescription drug investigation conducted by the state. The state ordered the clinic closed for a time.

Zimmerman retained her license but eventually closed the clinic due to financial concerns. In a letter announcing the closing, she wrote that her husband had been asked to leave his job with Ark City Clinic.
