Ice machine case ends with plea; probation

Tyler Conklin has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge brought after Conklin was found to have poured urine into an ice machine at Winfield High School in late April. The ice was later used at a tennis match.

Conklin, 18, pleaded to one count of endangering the food supply by exposing the ice to a contaminate and received a six month jail sentence. He can avoid serving any time in jail by successfully completing six months of probation, according to a Cowley County District Court official.

Conklin will also pay $123 in court costs and an additional $25 probation supervision fee.
