Full slate of events on tap for Udall fall fest

The National Weather Service is promising "fabulous" fall weather this week to accompany Udall’s annual fall festival.

With highs in the upper 70s, you couldn’t ask for better weather for the car show, biscuits and gravy breakfast, turtle races, the TOPS Poker Walk/Run, baby show, pet show, rides and Chicken & Noodles or bar-b-cue beef lunch.

And all that is just a preview of the morning activities which begin at 7 a.m. with breakfast. The car show and concessions open at 8 a.m. and will run until 3 p.m. The rides will be open downtown from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and lunch will begin at 11 a.m. and run to 4 p.m. Don’t forget bingo at the senior citizens building from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The line up and judging for the parade will be on First Street at 1 p.m. with the parade beginning at 2 p.m. Lunch should be settled by the time the parade is over and you can try for dessert at the cake walk at the Community Building at 3 p.m. or work off lunch at the tractor pull on S. Main Street, also at 3 p.m.

Time to get serious when the Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament begins at 4 p.m at the high school commons area. Registration is at 3 p.m. The tournament will run until 8 p.m.

Burgers & fixin’s will be available at the community building between 5 and 9 p.m. The kids prize drawings will be at 8 p.m. and the adult drawings at 8:15 p.m.

The evening will just get started at 9 p.m. when the street dance featuring Big Fat Fun gets underway on First Street. The dance will end at midnight.
