Ark City teens arrested for stealing from stores

Two Arkansas City teenagers were arrested by Ponca City police Monday evening for stealing from four stores, according to a spokeswoman for the Ponca City Police Department.

The 17-year-old girls, whose names were not released because of their ages, were in The Buckle, a clothing store, when police were called. Police believe the girls also stole from Maurice’s, Goodys and Payless.

They were each charged with possession of stolen property and four counts of petty larceny. Only one of the crimes is a felony. The girls were released in the custody of their parents and will be referred to the Kay County Office of Juvenile Affairs.
