Annual tax statements will have a new look

Annual personal property tax statements are going in the mail this week in a new format.

The regular tax statement and the information sheet on each piece of property have been combined onto legal-size paper. The change will eliminate the need for two mail-outs, according to Cowley County Treasurer Kathy Foust.

The first half payment is due Dec. 20th. Since the 20th falls on a Saturday, taxpayers will have a grace period until the following Monday – the 22nd. The Dec. 22 postmark will be accepted without additional penalty.

You may pay your taxes by check, cash, credit card and on the www.cowleycounty.org website. Debit cards are not accepted. There is a convenience fee if you use a credit card which is passed on to the providers of the credit card service.

The treasurer’s office is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office remains open during the lunch hour. The courthouse will be closed Nov. 27 and 28th for the Thanksgiving holiday.
