Newly elected county officials will be sworn in at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Cowley County commission meeting room on the first floor of the courthouse.
Cowley County Clerk Karen Defore, sheriff Don Reed, county attorney Chris Smith, register of deeds Nancy Horst, treasurer Kathy Foust and commissioners Gary Wilson and Alan Groom will take their oaths of office.
Two of the three district court judges – Jim Pringle and Nick St Peter – were also elected in November.
St. Peter will preside over the swearing in ceremony but someone else will have to swear him in.
