AC shooting victim critical but recovery likely

A 26-year-old Wichita man shot multiple times Feb. 25 at an Arkansas City apartment remains in critical condition, Ark City Police Chief Sean Wallace said Tuesday.

Tyrone Clay is hospitalized in Wichita and expected to make a full recovery. However, investigators have not yet been able to question Clay beyond the initial conversation on the day of the shooting.

A preliminary hearing has been set for 9:30 a.m. April 3 in Cowley County District Court in Ark City for two brothers charged with attempted first degree murder.

Aaron Brown, 27, is being held in the Cowley County jail in lieu of $1 million bond. Lee Brown, 38, is also being held in the county jail. His bond was reduced from $1 million to $300,000 during a court appearance March 5.

Both men are from Ark City. They surrendered to police after the shooting at Rockridge Apartments.
