Small blast of winter could make roads slick

A March blast of winter weather may hit Cowley County Thursday and Friday, a local emergency management official said.

Area weather forecasters say snow showers and light rain are possible both days. If temperatures are low enough that can create a problem, says Bob Frazee, emergency management coordinator for Arkansas City.

"Temperatures may warm enough during the day to bring light rain," he says. "But be cold enough at night for snow or freezing drizzle. There is a good chance we will see at at least a few slick roadways sometime in the next couple days."

Warm temperatures and clear skies are expected over the weekend.
