Two involved in Orscheln case plead guilty

Two of three people arrested last month after they attempted to pass a fake check at Orscheln have pleaded guilty to various charges.

Gary Garrett, 39, Haysville, pleaded guilty to two counts of forgery and two counts of misdemeanor theft. Alan Jay Jackson, 49, Ark City, pleaded guilty to two counts of dealing with false identification?documents. Sentencing for Garrett is April 23 and Jackson April 30, according to the Cowley County Attorney’s Office.

Stacy Dickson, 29, Wichita, did not enter a plea. She is to appear in Cowley County District Court again April 16.

Jackson and Dickson have posted bond and? been released from the county jail. Garrett remains jailed in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Police were alerted by employees. A rental truck they were using carried over 30 fraudulent identification cards, fraudulent checks and numerous other items used to make false documents, police said.

Investigators are exploring whether the three were involved in a multi–state forgery ring.
