AC cops: Morning drug bust turns up cocaine

An man and woman were arrested at their Arkansas City home early Wednesday following a months-long investigation into suspected drug activity at the home, Ark City Chief Sean Wallace said.

A warrant was served early this morning at a residence in the 700 block of N. Fifth. Officers uncovered a substance believed to be cocaine and also found various drug paraphernalia.

The substance will be shipped to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation for further analysis.

Police had learned about the home as a possible point for drug sales after receiving some tips about problems at the home.

James Roy Watson III, 55, and Eveda Ruth Potter, 62, were arrested and faces charges of cocaine possession and possession of paraphernalia. They were taken to the Cowley County Jail and held on $6,000 bond.
