Southwestern VP finalist for a job in Alaska

Dr. J. Andy Sheppard ? academic vice president and dean of faculty at Winfield’s Southwestern College ? is among five finalists for the position of president at Alaska Pacific University, according to a news report from Alaska.

The private, Anchorage-based college announced its list of final candidates this week and expects to make a decision by January. More than 60 people applied for the position.

Sheppard has served Southwestern as an administrator for several years and has been active in establishing the college’s Center for Belarusian Studies. Alaska Pacific University has about 500 full-time and 200 part-time students.
