Man gets DUI after leaving scene of accident

Authorities caught up with an Ark City man suspected of driving under the influence and walking away from a minor, weather-related accident late Tuesday.

Arnold D. Snow was taken into custody and faces charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an injury accident and failure to report an accident. He was arrested at his home after being located as the result of an investigation into a wreck on U.S. 166 highway.

It was just before 11 p.m when officers arrived at a scene just west of the W. Madison bridge, undersheriff Bill Mueller said. Two vehicles had left the roadway due to slick conditions.

No one suffered serious injuries but wintesses at the scene told investigators a man, that authorities now believe was Snow, left the scene on foot. The suspect got a ride to his home.

With the help of the Ark City Police Dept., Snow was located at his residence and given a field sobriety test. He was then placed under arrest.
