Authorities in Arkansas City say they have arrested a maintenance man at Presbyterian Manor that had been taking medication from residents at the assisted-living apartments.
Matthew Don Richardson, 24, was arrested Thursday while he was working and has been booked into the Cowley County Jail. He faces a number of charges and was said by police to have been in possession of stolen narcotic drugs when he was apprehended.
The Cowley County Drug Task force had been investigating the case and was eventually able to link the suspect to three separate narcotic thefts from different residences.
The thefts had occurred in recent days.
An arrest occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday.
