An Ark City man was arrested for suspicion of DUI early Sunday after a Cowley County Sheriff’s deputy found him passed out inside a vehicle involved in a minor accident.
Terry Spears Jr., 40, faces charges of driving under the influence and driving with an expired driver’s license. He bonded out of jail later in the day, according to jail records.
Spears, according to a written report, was inside a vehicle sitting in the ditch in the 4100 block of 202nd Rd. The vehicle appeared to have been involved in an accident at some point.
Spears was eventually arrested and taken to jail and sheriff’s investigators located the scene of the accident in the 1000 block of 202nd Rd.
Spears apparently left the roadway and struck a tree, causing damage to the vehicle.
