A trailer home near Strother Field sustained significant smoke damage during a fire Saturday night, fire officials at the scene said.
No one was inside the home ? which is located near the intersection of Hoover Ave. and Reed St. in the Pleasant Valley area ? but some family members were arriving home just as the blaze began. A neighbor reported the fire.
Melinda Wilson owns the structure and lives there with her boyfriend and four children. The fire appeared to have broken out around the rear portion of the home, fire marshal Alan Stoll said.
Much of the exterior of the home remained intact following the fire but Stoll said there was likely to be extensive smoke and water damage.
