A Winfield driver was arrested in Ark City over the weekend after becoming combative with police who stopped him on suspicions he was driving drunk.
Larry Flippin Jr., 34, was pulled over in the 1500 block of N. Summit Friday after an off-duty officer reported that the man’s vehicle had been weaving all over the road, striking curbs and running stop lights.
The officer called in what he’d seen and officers stopped Flippin, according to a report.
Flippin became combative, police said, and struck three officers.
He faces three charges of battery of a law enforcement office, DUI and multiple traffic violations.
The incident happened around 10:30 p.m.
