An 11-year-old Arkansas City boy was hit on the head with a lawnmower part Sunday afternoon at 412 E. Polk Ave.
The boy received four staples on the head at the local hospital, Ark City Police Chief Sean Wallace said.
James Bailey, 20, Ark City, was arrested and taken to the police department. He has extreme learning difficulties and was released in the custody of the father after consulting with District Court Judge Mike Smith and County Attorney Chris Smith, Wallace said.
