Women arrested at rundown home with teen

Two Arkansas City women were arrested Sunday after police found them in a rundown house with a juvenile boy. Both women had methamphetamines on them when searched, according to a report from police.

Deanne Nelson, 36, and Lisa Taylor, 43, were taken to the Cowley County Jail following the incident. They face possible charges of possession of meth and drug paraphernalia and interference with parental custody.

Officers were called to 726 N. Fourth St. to investigate a report that people had entered the home, which had been deemed unsafe for human occupancy. A juvenile male ? known to police as a runaway ? ran from officers when they approached.

The two women were found at the house and subsequently arrested.
