Authorites name 2 arrested after drug probe

Authorities have released the names of two men arrested after a drug-related investigation that began in the parking lot of Native Lights Casino.

John Buckle was arrested and jailed in Kay County, Okla. John D. McConnell, 48, rural South Haven, was arrested and jailed in Cowley County. Information about specific charges is not yet available.

A third person was questioned in connection with the incident Wednesday but that person was not arrested, according to undersheriff Bill Mueller. All three people are known to local law enforcement and have had prior run-ins with the law.

Mueller said a substance believed to be anhydrous ammonia was found in a vehicle that Oklahoma authorities first spotted at the casino. Buckle was arrested in the parking lot but McConnell and a second man were pulled over in Kansas after fleeing authorities.

Mueller said a subsequent search of the vehicle turned up what is believed to be drugs and drug-related paraphernalia.
