Greendoor La Familia in Winfield will close soon after 25 years of serving Mexican-style food at the corner of Ninth and Main.
Charlie Ramirez, one of the restaurant’s owners, notified building owner David Kaufman that the restaurant would be closing, Kaufman said Friday. Health issues have affected Ramirez’s ability to keep up with running the restaurant.
Kaufman said he had been confident a replacement business would step in fairly quickly but that’s looking less likely.
"I’m not sure that deal is going to work out," he said.
The Greendoor is expected to close by mid June.
