Roland Williard

Roland Wayne Williard, 68, of Atlanta, Kan., passed away Sunday morning, July 18, 2010, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. Interment will follow at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery southeast of Atlanta. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday. The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m.

Memorials have been established in Wayne’s name for the Atlanta First Responders and the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Born on December 10, 1941, in Cambridge he was the son of Roland L. and LeEtta (Moss) Williard. He was raised and received his education in Atlanta and graduated from Atlanta High School in 1959.

He was united in marriage to Kathleen Holt on February 27, 1960, at the Atlanta Christian Church. The couple made their home in Atlanta where Wayne made farming his lifelong career.

He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Atlanta. Besides being an avid farmer, Wayne enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, of the home; his children, Clint Williard and wife, Heather, Harper, and Carla Owen, San Antonio, Tx.; his father, Roland Williard, Cambridge; his brother, Tom Williard and wife, Linda, Burden; his grandchildren, Aaron Williard, Nicolai Williard, Trevor Owen, Taylor, Dayton, and Chyanne Albright; and his great-grandchildren, Blake, Alexis, Ethan, Christian and Donivan.

He was preceded in death by his mother, LeEtta, and infant brother, Dean.
